Stop Spending So Much!

Small business owners always end up spending more than they have to, but fortunately for you I have gathered the most common mistakes. Here are the top five mistakes made by new and small businesses.

1.       Too little planning. Many times, owners don’t have a solid marketing plan to help bring in business. If you don’t plan enough then you will end up making a lot of costly mistakes especially when you are on a tight schedule

2.       Bad Communication. Miscommunication can lead to problems and expensive solutions. If you want to avoid this then make sure that you are clear on everything. Run through contracts and agreements to make sure they make sense. Many times people involved with multiple parties forget that people may not fully understand what is going on.

3.       Changing Strategy Without a Good Reason. Everything change you make should be a good one that is back up by previous mistakes or data. Changing strategy just for the sake of it or on gut feelings can lead to tremendous downfalls. If you can’t give a valid reason as to why a change was made then you probably shouldn’t have done it.

4.       Unnecessary Delays. As the old saying goes, “time is money” Make sure that everything at all ends is running smoothly. Just sending reminders or going back to check yourself could save more time than you think.

5.       Not Living up to Customer’s expectations. One of the most used and most effective marketing is by word of mouth. If you tell your customer that you will do something then you better get it done. If your company is viewed as unreliable then you could lose customers instantly. Always do what you say and try to do what customers expect.

Now these aren’t the only problems but they are the most common. If you want your business to succeed then try to remember some of these slips ups. Just be gaining this knowledge, you are already ahead of many.
